Local 295/851 Scholarship Fund

For the first time in history, the Executive Boards of Locals 295 and 851 have come together to create a joint Scholarship Fund for dependant children of our members. We will issue scholarships for the 2008/2009 academic year. The Scholarship Fund is designed to help dependants of Local members pursue a program of undergraduate education. Members are also eligible to apply for scholarships from the Teamsters' James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund.

You can help contribute to the Scholarship Fund by purchasing Teamster clothing from our new on-line store.

An investment in our children is an investment in labors' future.

Scholarship Criteria

• Applicant MUST be a child or legal dependant of a current Local 295 or 851 member in good standing for at least the past 12 months.

• Applicant MUST be a graduating high school student and entering as a freshman beginning in the fall of 2008 to a two- or four-year public/private college or other accredited educational institution.

• Applicant MUST submit a typed essay. (The essay topic is on the application.)

Applications may ONLY be requested via e-mail from scholarship@local295-851.com.

To request an application, send an e-mail and include: the applicant's name, the applicant's Teamster parent's name and the applicant's mailing address.

MARCH 10, 2008 - APRIL 4, 2008.

With All Requested Information:
APRIL 30, 2008.
NO EXCEPTIONS!!
